JENVAC
Description
JENVAC ® is an inactivated Vero cell- derived vaccine prepared from an Indian strain of the Japanese encephalitis virus. JENVAC® is safe and highly effective vaccine that protects against all the known strains of Japanese encephalitis. It is approved for use in children and adults above one year of age. It is routinely used by people living in endemic areas or areas where recent breakout of JE epidemic is reported. It should also be used in children and adults traveling into areas where JE is endemic, spending a month or longer in endemic areas during the transmission season, especially if travel will include rural areas. It is an optional vaccine meant for restricted high risk states.
Immunization Guideline

JEEV can be administered along with other routine vaccines in same visit but should be given with separate syringes at different injection sites. It should not be mixed with other vaccines in the same vial.
