Baby’s first laugh is one of the best moments in parenthood to enjoy. If your baby hasn’t started laughing yet, no need to worry about it. Series of joyful noises like squealing, chirping, cooing and gurgling will one day lead to giggling. This milestone is expected to be achieved around 3-4 months.
She might laugh by simply seeing you make a funny face, or her favorite toy or a cute puppy. Babies begin to enjoy life as their sense of vision and cognitive skills are getting polished. Laughing or giggling becomes a way of communicating their feeling of joy. Babies are not shy and they laugh out loud. They love to hear their own sound. It is a piece of cake to make a well fed and well-rested baby laugh. But, it may become a tough nut to crack, if you are performing in front of a hungry and restless soul. You might end up making your baby teary rather than giggling, if you try at bad times. Over-stimulation can lead to an overwhelmed baby and it simply does not help. Try to poke your baby’s funny bone, when he is alert and already fed. Let nature take its own course. I know, it is hard to keep waiting for that first giggle, but you are going to hear it soon in your home.
