can we give painful doses at 12 and 16 weeks if 8 week dose was painless? OR can we give painful at 16 week only if doses at 8 week and 12 week were painless? Gave my child painless Hexaxim, Prevnar 13 and Rotavirus at 8 week.. which choice of the two given is more efficient in terms of providing better protection?
Painless and painful are just terms to create hype around new vaccines. All injectable vaccines hurt at the moment when they are injected to a baby. I will rather call painless as the DTaP vaccines which are the subunit type of vaccines containing only a part of Pertussis causing bacteria and not the entire bacteria. These are popularly called painless as they do not cause pain and fever. Nowadays, they are however not preferred. Painless vaccines are not able to prevent transmission and spread of whooping cough or pertussis among non vaccinated persons.
Please go for regular DTwP vaccine combinations like Easysix now for further doses. Your baby will get better immune response and protection from diseases.
