It is a DTwP type of vaccine containing purified Diphtheria toxoid, purified aTetanus toxoid and killed Bordetella pertussis bacilli. DTwP vaccine is administered to infants above the age of 6 weeks and preschool children for active immunization against 3 diseases called Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (Whooping cough) diseases. Children infected with HIV, symptomatic or asymptomatic, should also be immunized with D.T.COQ/D.T.P.
Primary vaccination with 0.5 ml doses can be done at 6,10,14 week schedule in countries where pertussis represents a major risk for infants. Booster dose can be given one year after the 3rd injection of the primary vaccination.

D.T. COQ/D.T.P should not be used in children having neurological disorder history. In case of severe allergy symptoms, like fever >40 deg C, persistent crying syndrome, febrile or non-febrile convulsion, hypotonia-hyporeactivity syndrome, following the first dose of vaccine, subsequent doses should not be given. DTP vaccine with acellular pertussis component should be given.
